Precious Leader Does Baghdad

The Codpiece Commander pulled a "surprise" visit to Iraq, sneaking into the city to meet his satrap Nouri al-Maliki for a photo op.
Some thoughts about this trip crossed my mind when I read about it. According to news reports, it was all quickly arranged and the prime minister was kept in the dark until 5 minutes before the meeting. Not exactly the usual exchange between heads of state but more like the office manager popping into a cubicle to see if the guy is playing video games.

And the obvious message to us all is that the Victorious War President is exulting over the staged Zarqawi production from a few days back, possibly stressing how much safer and secure Iraq is now that the terrible boogeyman was removed.

I don't know for sure, but I suspect a visit like this has to be planned some time in advance and isn't like driving down to the store for beer. The security aspect has to be a convoluted nightmare especially considering the hell hole that Baghdad is every day. The trip logistics have to be meticulously thought out and perhaps dry runs are necessary. Which brings me to suspect that this trip is part of the whole propaganda package, perhaps scripted two months ago when they decided to dump the exposed Zarqawi terror sales campaign.

Maybe before he left he took a victory jog around the green zone or dropped into the mess hall to have some lunch with the grunts. You know, like when he helped serve up some yummy looking dinner dinner a while back
